Dear Mom:
Well it has been six months since I said good-bye. Remember, I still said, "see ya," because I do plan to see both you and Dad again . . . someday.
Jaclyn had her baby boy, Abel Michael. Oh, Mom, he weighed 10 pounds and 5 ounces. He looks like a six-week old baby boy. I sent her the little socks I showed you. I'll bet he felt just a little kiss from somewhere.
Joe had posted a lot of pictures from their trip to Hawaii plus one of Jaclyn and Abe. I decided to spend some time browsing through his pictures of Abel and Kaui. I found myself wanting to print a few of the pictures and run up to the Villa tonight to share them with you and I got a lump in my throat and some tears in my eyes. I figured this is a good way to help my hurting heart right now.
You are not forgotten. So many little things remind me of our times together. It is baseball season and I am watching some baseball games. The memories just roll around in my mind. You and I keeping score was the most hilarious as we visited way too much and lost track of the game too many times. We sure laughed a lot.
Remember when Dad and Bob would go fishing on Monday nights and we would stay home to watch Monday Night Baseball? This one particular time I got us each a Buster Bar from Dairy Queen. You really weren't supposed to be eating the chocolate or the peanuts but wasn't it good! Well worth the stomach ache later?
I finally visited up at the Villa again. I really didn't think it would be so hard but the longer I had stayed away, the more I just felt you were still there. Della and I took a prayer shawl to Corrine and her roommate Judy. In case you don't know it, the first prayer shawl I made was going to be for you. It was a pretty blue one which I didn't get finished in time. When my friend Nancy's dad died, I decided to take it to her with a prayer for the Comfort of the Holy Spirit.
Closing for now. I do plan to visit the cemetery next week. I have the floral signs; one for each of the graves; "Grandma" "Grandpa" "Dad" and now there will be one for you that says "Mom".
Be seeing you!
